Business Development/ Customer Sales
The New Business Development Rep will be responsible for securing new business clients for Overdrive Logistics. He/ She will be responsible for the creation and development of business opportunities that are valued by OverDrive and the potential customer. He /She will identify opportunities to reach projected growth and lay the ground work for implementation. He/ She will work closely with and report to the Director of Business Development. This individual is motivating and knowledgeable in the changing markets. A New Business Development position requires someone with strong professional management skills, sound judgement, initiative, extensive knowledge of truckload industry, strong organizational skills, complex problem-solving skills, attentive to details, and must have strong negotiating skills. He/ She understands the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships and possesses effective interpersonal communication skills. This person can recognize challenges and adapt to maximize profitability. This position requires a self-motivated individual. This position is full time and critical in the success of our business. The New Business Development Representative is a key player in the future success of OverDrive Logistics.
Job Duty & Responsibility:
- Formulate, direct, or coordinate marketing opportunities and activities to promote services and win new business partnerships.
- Identify potential new customers’ needs and strategies to develop opportunities and relationships.
- Promote, Plan, direct, follow-up, and coordinate communications and/or conferences with new and existing customers.
- Monitor seasonal and regional supply and demand of freight and equipment for negotiating profitable rates with customers.
- Review strategies and close deals with new and existing customers.
- Coordinate sales by establishing sales goals, quotas, and territories with the Director of Business Development.
- Monitor customer performance metrics and review contracts to ensure we are in compliance.
- Proactively identify potential problems for new customers, offer and implement solutions.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales or support staff.
- Communicate with account leads and other operations personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Work with management to solve higher level issues involving growing business needs.
- Represent Overdrive at trade association meetings to promote business.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Four years minimum experience in freight brokerage
- Customer sales experience in the industry required
- Experience moving refrigerated freight preferred.
- Extensive skills in creating documents, retrieving data from an LMS/TMS, presentations, and spreadsheets using charts and graphs.
- Ability to travel as needed.
